community which was a mile stone in SMA’s progress, and gave
an insight into the wonderful contribution of SMA’s role in
integration and contribution of intellectual and cultural
contributions to the local community. Our special guest Mr.
Bala Sajeev expressed his happiness in SMA role to join the
UUKMA which in the recent past was a huge success in
organising Kalamela. He reitereated the fact that a need
for an umbrella organisation is paramount in todays world so
as to cater the needs of smaller association and their
interests. The President of SMA Mr Jaison Chackochan added
to the contributions of SMA and highlighted the amount of
hard work put into these functions by the members of SMA and
Secretary Mr. Pradeep Kuruvilla delivered the vote of
thanks.
The function started with a carol singing concert performed
by SMA members in a choir and followed various traditional
dance performances by professional performers who performed
MohiniAttam, a classical traditional dance form originating
only in Kerala. The traditional art forms of kerala are
famous for their vibrant versatility and eye catching colour
costumes and the traditional way it is presented.
The function started of with a Traditional Nativity
“SADHVARTHA – The Good News” written and directed by Abhi
Abraham and Joseph Canatious was a treat to watch with adult
actors and actresses performing to the scriptures with apt
costumes, music and lighting. A special mention needs to be
made about all the artists who acted in the nativity play,
as we understand it requires lot of practice and
professionalism to put in these efforts The evening was soon
packed with variety performances of cinematic dances by
younger children below 10 years of age. A special mention
has to be made to our guests dance groups who arrived from
Ipswich and Basildon and presented a splendid performance.
The evening progressed with more matured dance performances
by older children who danced to various Indian music, and
also karaoke singing by SMA members was a feather on the
crown and not to say, every bit of those performances were
enjoyed to the last drop.
The wonderful evening came to an end with a splendid dance
performance of SMA adult members
The evening ended with a dinner party for the guests and all
members of the SMA marking the end of Christmas and a Dawn
of a New Year for the SMA members.
Last but the not the least, a special thanks has to said to
Mr.Aiden Mathew Jayanth and Miss Nancy Jimmi, for hosting
the show, the host and hostess won the heart and minds of
our audience and we wish them many more hosting to come in
the future and also to Mr. Anthony for his sound

directly or indirectly contributed towards this show. These
contributions are in the form of Stage Lighting, Stage
Decoration, Makeup of Children, Sound System Control,
Videography, Hall cleaning and arrangements etc and so many
other areas of expertise. All there efforts have been so
wonderful that without their assistance and guidance, it
would be next to impossible to host such activities. We
