SMA celebrated Vishu and Easter on 10 Apr 2010 at St
Saviours parish Hall from 1700hrs to 2100hrs.
The evening started of with a musical theme depicting
the dawn of a New Year (Vishu) with “Thiruvathira”, a
traditional classical dance form performed by the ladies
of SMA which was immediately followed by the theme of
resurrection which was biblically scripted and acted by
SMA members.
The cultural programme progressed by various cinematic
dances by our young artists aged 0-5 and 5-12 year old.
The evening got more exciting and colourful with more
musicals and dance performances by adult artists.
Although the evening was a packed with eye catching
dances, colourful dresses and themes, the most eye
catching event of the evening was “Oppana”, a famous
social entertainment dance among mappila communites
prevalent in Kerala.
The evening progressed with a Comedy Skit which
comically showed the disadvantages of chatting in
towards world. The actors and actresses did a superb
performance to make the show a success.
The wonderful evening came to an end with an Orchestra
Performance by members of SMA and a dinner party for the
guests and all members of the SMA.
The success of the event is dedicated towards the Arts
Committee convened by Mr. Rajeev Nair. A special
mention has to be made to Mr. Abhilash Abraham for
writing, directing and choreographing the Musical Themes
and comedy Skit, Mrs. Daisy George, Simi
Sebastian,Mettin Vini, Ancy Jacob for their active and
ongoing support in training the kids and adults for
various stage shows, Ms Nancy Jimmy for sound editing of
musical tracks and videography.
Last but the not the least, there are a lot of SMA
members who have directly or indirectly contributed
towards this show. These contributions are in the form
of Stage Lighting, Stage Decoration, Makeup of Children,
Sound System Control, Videography, Hall cleaning and
arrangements etc and so many other areas of expertise.
All there efforts have been so wonderful that without
their assistance and guidance, it would be next to
impossible to host such activities. We highly
appreciate there dedication and support in making the
whole show a success.
